1. Ownership
This website, its source code, its design system, its ballot-rendering engine, its print system and all content, imagery, wordmarks and logos displayed on it (together, “the Platform”) are the property of the Australian Democrats. All rights are reserved.
2. No permission to reuse — read this carefully
The Australian Democrats do not grant permission — express, implied, or otherwise — to any other organisation, political party, candidate, campaign, business or person to use, copy, reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, deploy, host, distribute, sell or create derivative works from the Platform or any part of it, including its source code, templates, design, data structures or content, without the prior express written permission of the Australian Democrats. Any such use without written permission is unauthorised, constitutes an infringement of the party's rights, and will be treated accordingly. If you want to licence any part of the Platform, write to us first — do not deploy first and ask later.
To be clear: using this website for its intended purpose — viewing, generating, printing, saving and sharing the how-to-vote materials it produces — is of course permitted, and encouraged. The prohibition above protects the platform; it does not restrict voters using the product.
3. Trade marks
“Australian Democrats”, the Australian Democrats logo and associated marks are the property of the Australian Democrats and must not be used in any way that suggests affiliation, endorsement or origin without written authority.
4. What this site is
This site publishes the Australian Democrats' recommended preference orders. Recommendations are the opinion of the party. How you complete your ballot paper is always entirely your choice, and your vote is secret. Ballot replicas are illustrative renderings; the official ballot paper you receive from electoral officials always takes precedence, including candidate order and any details that differ.
5. Accuracy and warranty
We work hard to keep recommendations, candidate details and electoral information current, but the Platform is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Electoral rules change; always follow the instructions printed on your official ballot paper and the directions of electoral commission staff.
6. Privacy
The Platform sets no tracking cookies and collects no personal information. The Family Pack feature stores the names and electorates you enter on your own device only; they are never transmitted to us.
